Klaar keeps everything on your phone. There is no Klaar account, no Klaar server, and nothing to sign up for. Your steps, your app usage, your settings and your gems never leave the device.
Your settings, your earned and spent minutes, your daily history, your focus streak and your gems are stored in Android’s ordinary app storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
Anything Klaar stores is removed when you uninstall the app, or when you use Reset all data in Settings.
Steps. With your permission, Klaar reads your step count from Health Connect so walking can earn you screen time. Klaar reads steps only. It never writes to Health Connect, and it never sends your step data anywhere.
Installed apps and which app is in front. To block the apps you chose, Android has to tell Klaar which app is currently open. This is what the usage access permission is for. Klaar uses it to decide whether to show its own lock screen, and for nothing else. It does not record a browsing history and does not send a list of your apps anywhere.
Notifications. Used only to show that blocking is running, which Android requires for a service of this kind.
Nothing. Klaar contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
Two things go directly to Google rather than through Klaar. If you buy Klaar Pro, Google Play handles the payment — Klaar is told only whether a purchase is active, and never sees your card or billing details. If you leave a review, Play’s own review sheet handles it. Google’s privacy policy covers both.
Klaar is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. Since Klaar collects nothing from anyone, there is nothing held about a child to delete.
If this policy changes in substance, the date above changes with it and the new version ships in an app update. Because the policy travels inside the app, the copy you are reading always matches the version you are running.
